Railing / Miscellaneous Metal Fabricator

We are looking for an individual who wants to increase their skill set and expand their knowledge in the world of metal fabrication specifically with Miscellaneous Steel.

Metal Fabricators/Welders assemble finished products and the parts that go into them by cutting, aligning, and fitting together structural metal parts and welding the parts together to make beams, columns, stairs, rails, and more.

Quality control is important throughout the assembly process, so fabricators look for faulty components and mistakes in the assembly process. They help fix problems before defective products are made.

Because we are an American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) and American Welding Society (AWS) Certified shop, this job requires a range of knowledge and skills. Here at Evans Metal you could achieve the following:

  • Read and understand blueprints
  • Read a Ruler or Tape Measure
  • Position or align components and parts either manually or with hoists
  • Use hand tools, machines, and/or welders to assemble parts
  • Conduct quality control (QC) checks and have qualified QC personnel check their work at various stages of production. Verifying that measurements are correct is a critical part in ensuring the product is done right.
  • Use a variety of tools and machines, such as tape measures, welders, grinders, digital protractors, jobbers, combination squares, brake presses, punches and dies, drills, and more.
  • Clean and maintain work area, tools, and other equipment
  • Using a forklift for heavy loading and unloading is preferred.

As you learn and grow, financial growth will follow. Interested applicants will need to complete our hiring application and pass a Ruler Test (available in house in the office).
